چکیده

Central nervous system (CNS) abnormalities in children related to COVID-19 occur acute and delayed manifestations, a recent study has found. Previously, such manifestations were described mainly case reports. But order understand the full spectrum of disease adolescents, it's important have enough cases aggregate look at neuroimaging manifestations.

Brain imaging abnormalities in CNS virus infections.

Unlike bacterial and fungal meningitis in which imaging abnormalities are not specific for a particular agent, many virus infections of the CNS produce MRI abnormalities not seen by any other infectious agent. The changes caused by the specific virus can also be produced by noninfectious disorders. Imaging changes must always be evaluated in conjunction with the clinical symptoms, signs, and la...

Identifying patients most likely to have a common bile duct stone after a positive intraoperative cholangiogram.

The false-positive rates of a positive intraoperative cholangiogram (IOC) are as high as 60%. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for stone removal is required after a positive IOC. It is unclear which clinical factors identify patients most likely to have a stone after a positive IOC. This study was conducted to identify factors predictive of common bile duct (CBD) stone(s) o...

Higher ABCD2 score predicts patients most likely to have true transient ischemic attack.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Some patients diagnosed with transient ischemic attack (TIA) in the emergency department may actually have alternative diagnoses such as seizure, migraine, or other nonvascular spells. The ABCD2 score has been shown to predict subsequent risk of stroke in patients with TIA diagnosed by emergency physicians, but perhaps high ABCD2 scores simply separate those patients with...

Fluid-Attenuated Inversion Recovery Vascular Hyperintensities-Diffusion-Weighted Imaging Mismatch Identifies Acute Stroke Patients Most Likely to Benefit From Recanalization.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Fluid-attenuated inversion recovery vascular hyperintensities (FVH) beyond the boundaries of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) lesion (FVH-DWI mismatch) have been proposed as an alternative to perfusion-weighted imaging (PWI)-DWI mismatch. We aimed to establish whether FVH-DWI mismatch can identify patients most likely to benefit from recanalization. METHODS FVH-DWI mism...
